Marie Antoinette rare pinecone sculpture
This incredible 1:6 scale statue of Marie Antoinette is truly unique because she made from pinecones. All TreegirlsbyVee figures are made from pinecones responsibly harvested from her property. Each body consists of two pinecones at different stages of growth that are skillfully shaped, sanded and joined to create the torso and lower body. Locally sourced acorns become the head and arms made from wire are made to correct proportion before coated in nontoxic plastic. Ever aspect of each build is done free-hand. This artist enjoys the spontaneity of free-hand style. The painted faces can be similar but never replicated and are verifiably one of one works.
This Marie features a wig made from acorn cap pieces, adorned with palm fiber braids and Spanish moss creates tiny curls to fram her face. Pieces of jewelry, dried flora, and artificial flowers give the wig a decadent look. Her jewelry is beaded to accentuate the attire colors. Her costume is ribbon, fabric, and laced glued and sewn to the figure. She also has the look of satin slippers.
The papillon pup is incredibly made from a pinecone bud from the same tree as the body cones. acorn cap and acorn bud create the dog's head and dried flora is used for the ears, legs, and tail. This pup is cradled gently between her bodice and arm.
The cake is acorn caps shaped, and set on an abalone button for the server tray.
