Cultures are a predominant source of my inspiration. Each treegirl design is an immediate connection to her region. The most enjoyable process is designing the identifiable elements from botanicals.

The challenging aspect of making original 1 of 1 pieces: when multiple people want that piece, I know I can make another, but inevitably, it will not be identical... makes me feel bad that I cant make everyone happy. I do commissions and that at least guarantees the client first right of purchase.

I didn't choose pinecones as my medium. I have a continuous supply of pinecones. The pinecones come from my trees. I just saw the possibility of what a pinecone can become. I use what is available and even on a 2 acre property - the possible materials are in abundance, if you see it for what it can be- not just as yard rubbish. The possible creations using pinecones is endless. Thats why I love working with pinecones..
