Challenges of 1 of 1 art
The challenging aspect of making original 1 of 1 pieces: when multiple people want that piece, I know I can make another, but inevitably, it will not be identical... makes me feel bad that I cant make everyone happy. I do commissions and that at least guarantees the client first right of purchase.

WHY pinecone art
I didn't choose pinecones as my medium. I have a continuous supply of pinecones. The pinecones come from my trees. I just saw the possibility of what a pinecone can become. I use what is available and even on a 2 acre property - the possible materials are in abundance, if you see it for what it can be- not just as yard rubbish. The possible creations using pinecones is endless. Thats why I love working with pinecones..

I have 2 pine trees on my property that supply me with the pinecones I use to make treegirl bodies, all animal bodies, bird bodies, so much wonderful stuff.
Here is my wonderful treegirl source. An old live Christmas tree planted some 40+ yrs ago. An offspring tree (her baby) is now over 15 ft. Tall. I get pinecones year round and there's plenty to share with all my squirrels.
